John 7:26

7:26 Yet here he is, speaking publicly, ¹  and they are saying nothing to him. ²  Do the rulers really know that this man ³  is the Christ? ⁴ 

John 9:17

9:17 So again they asked the man who used to be blind, ⁵  “What do you say about him, since he caused you to see?” ⁶  “He is a prophet,” the man replied. ⁷ 

John 16:26

16:26 At that time ⁸  you will ask in my name, and I do not say ⁹  that I will ask the Father on your behalf.

² sn They are saying nothing to him. Some people who had heard Jesus were so impressed with his teaching that they began to infer from the inactivity of the opposing Jewish leaders a tacit acknowledgment of Jesus’ claims.
