The Lord Commissions Joshua
1:1 After Moses the Lord’s servant died, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant:

1:16 They told Joshua, “We will do everything you say. We will go wherever you send us.

2:2 The king of Jericho received this report: “Note well!
1 Israelite men have come here tonight

4:1 When the entire nation was on the other side, 5 the Lord told Joshua,

6 will be a reminder to you.
7 When your children ask someday, ‘Why are these stones important to you?’

8 them, “Look, set an ambush behind the city. Don’t go very far from the city; all of you be ready!
