Joshua 1:15

1:15 until the Lord gives your brothers a place like yours to settle and they conquer the land the Lord your God is ready to hand over to them. Then you may go back to your allotted land and occupy the land Moses the Lord’s servant assigned you east of the Jordan.” ¹ 

Joshua 5:6

5:6 Indeed, for forty years the Israelites traveled through the desert until all the men old enough to fight when they left Egypt, the ones who had disobeyed the Lord, died off. ²  For the Lord had sworn a solemn oath to them that he would not let them see the land he had sworn on oath to give them, ³  a land rich in ⁴  milk and honey.

Joshua 22:31

22:31 Phinehas, son of Eleazar, the priest, said to the Reubenites, Gadites, and the Manassehites, ⁵  “Today we know that the Lord is among us, because you have not disobeyed the Lord in this. ⁶  Now ⁷  you have rescued the Israelites from the Lord’s judgment.” ⁸ 

Joshua 23:15

23:15 But in the same way every faithful promise the Lord your God made to you has been realized, ⁹  it is just as certain, if you disobey, that the Lord will bring on you every judgment ¹⁰  until he destroys you from this good land which the Lord your God gave you.

¹ tn Heb “Then you may return to the land of your possession and possess it, that which Moses, the Lord’s servant, gave to you beyond the Jordan toward the rising of the sun.”

³ tn Some Hebrew mss, as well as the Syriac version, support this reading. Most ancient witnesses read “us.”
