13:1 When Joshua was very old, the Lord told him, “You are very old, and a great deal of land remains to be conquered.

Genesis 25:8

25:8 Then Abraham breathed his last and died at a good old age, an old man who had lived a full life. He joined his ancestors.

Deuteronomy 31:2

31:2 He said to them, “Today I am a hundred and twenty years old. I am no longer able to get about, and the Lord has said to me, ‘You will not cross the Jordan.’

tn Heb “was old, coming into the days.” This expression, referring to advancing in years, also occurs in the following clause.

tn Heb “old and full.”

tn Heb “And he was gathered to his people.” In the ancient Israelite view he joined his deceased ancestors in Sheol, the land of the dead.
