Joshua 2:22

2:22 They went ¹  to the hill country and stayed there for three days, long enough for those chasing them ²  to return. Their pursuers ³  looked all along the way but did not find them. ⁴ 

Joshua 9:13

9:13 These wineskins we filled were brand new, but look how they have ripped. Our clothes and sandals have worn out because it has been a very long journey.”

3:4 But stay about three thousand feet behind it. ⁵  Keep your distance ⁶  so you can see ⁷  which way you should go, for you have not traveled this way before.”

Joshua 24:17

24:17 For the Lord our God took us and our fathers out of slavery ⁸  in the land of Egypt ⁹  and performed these awesome miracles ¹⁰  before our very eyes. He continually protected us as we traveled and when we passed through nations. ¹¹ 

¹ tn Heb “they went and came.”

² tn Heb “the pursuers.” The object (“them”) is added for clarification.

³ tn Heb “the ones chasing them.” This has been rendered as “their pursuers” in the translation to avoid redundancy with the preceding clause.

⁴ tn Heb “The pursuers looked in all the way and did not find [them].”

⁵ tn Heb “But there should be a distance between you and it, about two thousand cubits in measurement.”

⁶ tn Heb “do not approach it.”

⁷ tn Heb “know.”

⁹ tn Heb “of the house of slavery.”

¹⁰ tn Heb “for the Lord our God, he is the one who brought up us and our fathers from the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.”
