22:32 Phinehas, son of Eleazar, the priest, and the leaders left the Reubenites and Gadites in the land of Gilead and reported back to the Israelites in the land of Canaan. ¹ 

Joshua 24:17

24:17 For the Lord our God took us and our fathers out of slavery ²  in the land of Egypt ³  and performed these awesome miracles ⁴  before our very eyes. He continually protected us as we traveled and when we passed through nations. ⁵ 

¹ tn Heb “and Phinehas…returned from the sons of Reuben and from the sons of Gad, from the land of Gilead to the land of Canaan, to the sons of Israel. And they brought back to them a word.”

² tn Heb “of the house of slavery.”

³ tn Heb “for the Lord our God, he is the one who brought up us and our fathers from the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves.”

⁴ tn Or “great signs.”

⁵ tn Heb “and he guarded us in all the way in which we walked and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed.”
