3:2 After three days the leaders went through the camp

4:7 tell them how the water of the Jordan stopped flowing
1 before the ark of the covenant of the
Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan stopped flowing.
2 These stones will be a lasting memorial for the Israelites.”
Joshua 8:20
8:20 When the men of Ai turned around, they saw
3 the smoke from the city ascending into the sky and were so shocked they were unable to flee in any direction.
4 In the meantime the men who were retreating to the desert turned against their pursuers.

10:1 Adoni-Zedek, king of Jerusalem, 5 heard how Joshua captured Ai and annihilated it and its king as he did Jericho 6 and its king. 7 He also heard how 8 the people of Gibeon made peace with Israel and lived among them.

Lord your God has made your fellow Israelites secure,
9 just as he promised them. So now you may turn around and go to your homes

11 which Moses the
Lord’s servant assigned to you east of the Jordan.
Joshua 22:27
22:27 but as a reminder to us and you,
12 and to our descendants who follow us, that we will honor the
Lord in his very presence
13 with burnt offerings, sacrifices, and tokens of peace.
14 Then in the future your descendants will not be able to say to our descendants, ‘You have no right to worship the
Lord.’
