Luke 21:28

21:28 But when these things ¹  begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption ²  is drawing near.”

Ephesians 1:14

1:14 who is the down payment ³  of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, ⁴  to the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 4:30

4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

¹ sn These things are all the events of vv. 8-27. Disciples represent the righteous here. The events surrounding the fall of the nation are a down payment on a fuller judgment to come on all humanity. The presence of one guarantees the other.

² sn With Jesus’ return comes the manifestation of judgment and final salvation (redemption).
