Luke 1:75

1:75 in holiness and righteousness before him for as long as we live.

Luke 4:7

4:7 So then, if you will worship me, all this will be yours.”

Luke 24:11

24:11 But these words seemed like pure nonsense to them, and they did not believe them.

sn The phrases that we…might serve him…in holiness and righteousness from Luke 1:74-75 well summarize a basic goal for a believer in the eyes of Luke. Salvation frees us up to serve God without fear through a life full of ethical integrity.

tn Grk “all our days.”

tn This is a third class condition: “If you worship me (and I am not saying whether you will or will not)…”

tn Or “will prostrate yourself in worship before…” The verb προσκυνέω (proskunew) can allude not only to the act of worship but the position of the worshiper. See L&N 53.56.

tn One could translate this phrase “it will all be yours.” The sense is the same, but the translation given is a touch more emphatic and more likely to catch the force of the offer.

sn The term pure nonsense can describe idle talk or a tale. The point is important, since the disciples reacted with disbelief that a resurrection was possible. Sometimes it is thought the ancients were gullible enough to believe anything. But these disciples needed convincing about the resurrection.
