Matthew 10:29

10:29 Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

Matthew 21:24

21:24 Jesus answered them, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me then I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.

Matthew 25:32

25:32 All the nations will be assembled before him, and he will separate people one from another like a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

sn The penny refers to an assarion, a small Roman copper coin. One of them was worth one-sixteenth of a denarius or less than a half hour’s average wage. Sparrows were the cheapest items sold in the market. God knows about even the most financially insignificant things; see Isa 49:15.

tn Or “to the ground without the knowledge and consent of your Father.”

tn Grk “answering, Jesus said to them.” This is somewhat redundant and has been simplified in the translation. Here δέ (de) has not been translated.

tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated.
