Matthew 14:26

14:26 When ¹  the disciples saw him walking on the water ²  they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear.

Matthew 28:8

28:8 So ³  they left the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

¹ tn Here δέ (de) has not been translated.

² tn Grk “on the sea”; or “on the lake.” The translation “water” has been used here for stylistic reasons (cf. the same phrase in v. 25).

³ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate the implied result of the angel’s instructions to tell the disciples.
