17:7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Do not be afraid.”

Matthew 26:5

26:5 But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.” ¹ 

Matthew 28:5

28:5 But the angel said ²  to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know ³  that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. ⁴ 

¹ sn The suggestion here is that Jesus was too popular to openly arrest him.
