28:8 So ¹  they left the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

Matthew 5:25

5:25 Reach agreement ²  quickly with your accuser while on the way to court, ³  or he ⁴  may hand you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the warden, and you will be thrown into prison.

Matthew 28:7

28:7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead. He ⁵  is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there.’ Listen, I have told you!”

¹ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate the implied result of the angel’s instructions to tell the disciples.

² tn Grk “Make friends.”

³ tn The words “to court” are not in the Greek text but are implied.

⁴ tn Grk “the accuser.”

³ tn Grk “And behold he.” The Greek word ἰδού (idou) has not been translated because it has no exact English equivalent here, but adds interest and emphasis (BDAG 468 s.v. 1).
