Matthew 9:18-19

Restoration and Healing

9:18 As he was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.” 9:19 Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.

Mark 5:23-24

5:23 He asked him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Come and lay your hands on her so that she may be healed and live.” 5:24 Jesus went with him, and a large crowd followed and pressed around him.

Luke 7:6

7:6 So Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof.

tn Grk “He”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

tn Here δέ (de) has been translated as “so” to indicate the resultative action.

tn The participle ἀπέχοντος (apeconto") has been taken temporally.

sn See the note on the word centurion in 7:2.

tn Or “do not be bothered.”

sn Note the humility in the centurion’s statement I am not worthy in light of what others think (as v. 4 notes). See Luke 5:8 for a similar example of humility.
