Matthew 3:5-6

3:5 Then people from Jerusalem, as well as all Judea and all the region around the Jordan, were going out to him, 3:6 and he was baptizing them in the Jordan River as they confessed their sins.

Matthew 4:25

4:25 And large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan River.

tn Grk “Then Jerusalem.”

tn Grk “they were being baptized by him.” The passive construction has been rendered as active in the translation for the sake of English style.

tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated before each of the places in the list, since English normally uses a coordinating conjunction only between the last two elements in a series of three or more.
