Nehemiah 12:7

12:7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These were the leaders ³  of the priests and their colleagues ⁴  in the days of Jeshua.

Nehemiah 11:7

11:7 These are the descendants of Benjamin:

Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jeshaiah,

¹ tc The present translation reads סַלּוּ (sallu, cf. NAB, NIV, NCV, NLT “Sallu”) rather than the MT reading סַלַּי (sallai, cf. KJV, NASB, NRSV, CEV “Sallai” ). Cf. v. 7.

² tn Heb “those behind him.” Some scholars emend the text to וְאֶחָיו (vÿ’ekhayv, “his brothers”).

³ tn Heb “heads” (so also in v. 12).

⁴ tn Heb “brothers” (also in vv. 8, 9, 24, 36).
