32:6 Moses said to the Gadites and the Reubenites, “Must your brothers go to war while you ⁵  remain here?

¹ tn In this case “lodge” is not used, but “remain, reside” (שְׁבוּ, shÿvu).

² tn This clause is also a verbal hendiadys: “what the Lord might add to speak,” meaning, “what more the Lord might say.”

⁴ tn The verse uses כֹּה (koh) twice: “Station yourself here…I will meet [the Lord] there.”

⁵ tn The vav (ו) is a vav disjunctive prefixed to the pronoun; it fits best here as a circumstantial clause, “while you stay here.”
