Psalms 102:15

102:15 The nations will respect the reputation of the Lord, ¹ 

and all the kings of the earth will respect ²  his splendor,

Psalm 117 ³ 

117:1 Praise the Lord, all you nations!

Applaud him, all you foreigners! ⁴ 

117:2 For his loyal love towers ⁵  over us,

and the Lord’s faithfulness endures.

Praise the Lord!

¹ tn Heb “will fear the name of the Lord.” To “fear” God’s name means to have a healthy respect for his revealed reputation which in turn motivates one to obey God’s commands (see Ps 86:11).

² tn The verb “will fear” is understood by ellipsis in the second line (see the preceding line).

³ sn Psalm 117. The psalmist tells the nations to praise the Lord for his loyal love and faithfulness.
