Psalms 119:106

119:106 I have vowed and solemnly sworn

to keep your just regulations.

Psalms 89:3

89:3 The Lord said,

“I have made a covenant with my chosen one;

I have made a promise on oath to David, my servant:

Psalms 89:35

89:35 Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness,

I will never deceive David.

Psalms 95:11

95:11 So I made a vow in my anger,

‘They will never enter into the resting place I had set aside for them.’”

tn The words “the Lord said” are supplied in the translation for clarification. It is clear that the words of vv. 3-4 are spoken by the Lord, in contrast to vv. 1-2, which are spoken by the psalmist.

tn Or “lie to.”

tn Heb “my resting place.” The promised land of Canaan is here viewed metaphorically as a place of rest for God’s people, who are compared to sheep (see v. 7).
