Psalms 125:5

125:5 As for those who are bent on traveling a sinful path,

may the Lord remove them, along with those who behave wickedly!

May Israel experience peace!

Isaiah 66:12

66:12 For this is what the Lord says:

“Look, I am ready to extend to her prosperity that will flow like a river,

the riches of nations will flow into her like a stream that floods its banks.

You will nurse from her breast and be carried at her side;

you will play on her knees.

Galatians 1:16

1:16 to reveal his Son in me so that I could preach him among the Gentiles, I did not go to ask advice from any human being, 10

tn Heb “and the ones making their paths twisted.” A sinful lifestyle is compared to a twisting, winding road.

tn Heb “lead them away.” The prefixed verbal form is understood as a jussive of prayer here (note the prayers directly before and after this). Another option is to translate, “the Lord will remove them” (cf. NIV, NRSV).

tn Heb “the workers of wickedness.”

tn Heb “peace [be] upon Israel.” The statement is understood as a prayer (see Ps 122:8 for a similar prayer for peace).

tn Heb “Look, I am ready to extend to her like a river prosperity [or “peace”], and like an overflowing stream, the riches of nations.”

tn The words “from her breast” are supplied in the translation for clarification (see v. 11).

tn Or “to me”; the Greek preposition ἐν (en) can mean either, depending on the context.

tn This pronoun refers to “his Son,” mentioned earlier in the verse.

tn Or “I did not consult with.” For the translation “I did not go to ask advice from” see L&N 33.175.

10 tn Grk “from flesh and blood.”
