Psalms 24:3

24:3 Who is allowed to ascend the mountain of the Lord?

Who may go up to his holy dwelling place?

Psalms 49:17

49:17 For he will take nothing with him when he dies;

his wealth will not follow him down into the grave.

Psalms 104:8

104:8 as the mountains rose up,

and the valleys went down –

to the place you appointed for them.

tn The imperfects in v. 3 are modal, expressing potential or permission.

sn In this context the Lord’s mountain probably refers to Zion/Jerusalem (see Isa 2:2-3).

tn Heb “his glory will not go down after him.”

tn Heb “from your shout they fled, from the sound of your thunder they hurried off.”
