109:26 Help me, O Lord my God!
Because you are faithful to me, deliver me! 5
118:28 You are my 6 God and I will give you thanks!
You are my God and I will praise you!
119:115 Turn away from me, you evil men,
so that I can observe 7 the commands of my God. 8
1 sn You healed me. Apparently the psalmist was plagued by a serious illness that threatened his life. See Ps 41.
2 sn Though he is confident that the Lord is aware of his situation (see v. 22a), the psalmist compares the Lord’s inactivity to sleep and urges him to wake up.
3 tn Heb “for my justice.”
4 tn Heb “for my cause.”
3 tn Heb “deliver me according to your faithfulness.”
4 sn You are my God. The psalmist speaks again (see v. 21), responding to the words of the worshipers (vv. 22-27).
5 tn The cohortative verbal form with vav (ו) conjunctive indicates purpose/result after the preceding imperative.
6 tn The psalmist has already declared that he observes God’s commands despite persecution, so here the idea must be “so that I might observe the commands of my God unhindered by threats.”
