34:11 Come children! Listen to me!

I will teach you what it means to fear the Lord. 1 

Psalms 55:5

55:5 Fear and panic overpower me; 2 

terror overwhelms 3  me.

1 tn Heb “the fear of the Lord I will teach you.” In vv. 13-14 the psalmist explains to his audience what it means to “fear” the Lord.

2 tn Heb “fear and trembling enter into me.”

3 tn Heb “covers.” The prefixed verbal form with vav (ו) consecutive carries on the descriptive (present progressive) force of the preceding imperfect.
