Psalms 68:11

68:11 The Lord speaks;

many, many women spread the good news.

Psalms 96:2

96:2 Sing to the Lord! Praise his name!

Announce every day how he delivers!

Psalms 40:9

40:9 I have told the great assembly about your justice.

Look! I spare no words!

O Lord, you know this is true.

tn Heb “gives a word.” Perhaps this refers to a divine royal decree or battle cry.

tn Heb “the ones spreading the good news [are] a large army.” The participle translated “the ones spreading the good news” is a feminine plural form. Apparently the good news here is the announcement that enemy kings have been defeated (see v. 12).

tn Heb “announce from day to day his deliverance.”

sn The great assembly is also mentioned in Pss 22:25 and 35:18.

tn Heb “I proclaim justice in the great assembly.” Though “justice” appears without a pronoun here, the Lord’s just acts are in view (see v. 10). His “justice” (צֶדֶק, tsedeq) is here the deliverance that originates in his justice; he protects and vindicates the one whose cause is just.

tn Heb “Look! My lips I do not restrain.”
