Romans 15:30-32

15:30 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, through our Lord Jesus Christ and through the love of the Spirit, to join fervently with me in prayer to God on my behalf. 15:31 Pray that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea and that my ministry in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, 15:32 so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

Romans 15:2

15:2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.

Colossians 1:11

1:11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of all patience and steadfastness, joyfully

Philippians 1:19

1:19 for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

James 5:16

5:16 So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.

tn Grk “brothers.” See note on the phrase “brothers and sisters” in 1:13.

tn Verses 30-31 form one long sentence in the Greek but have been divided into two distinct sentences for clarity in English.

tn The expression “for the display of” is an attempt to convey in English the force of the Greek preposition εἰς (eis) in this context.

tn Or “salvation.” Deliverance from prison (i.e., release) is probably what Paul has in view here, although some take this as a reference to his ultimate release from the body, i.e., dying and being with Christ (v. 23).

tn Or “the fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful”; Grk “is very powerful in its working.”
