Romans 2:27

2:27 And will not the physically uncircumcised man who keeps the law judge you who, despite the written code and circumcision, transgress the law?

Romans 13:6

13:6 For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants devoted to governing.

tn Grk “the uncircumcision by nature.” The word “man” is supplied here to make clear that male circumcision (or uncircumcision) is in view.

tn Grk “through,” but here the preposition seems to mean “(along) with,” “though provided with,” as BDAG 224 s.v. διά A.3.c indicates.

tn Grk “letter.”

tn Grk “they”; the referent (the governing authorities) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

tn Grk “devoted to this very thing.”
