The Song of Songs 1:10

1:10 Your cheeks are beautiful with ornaments;

your neck is lovely ¹  with strings of jewels.

Isaiah 50:6

50:6 I offered my back to those who attacked, ² 

my jaws to those who tore out my beard;

I did not hide my face

from insults and spitting.

¹ tn The phrase “is lovely” does not appear in the Hebrew but is supplied in the translation for the sake of clarity to complete the parallelism with the preceding line.
