1 John 1:10--2:1
1:10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us.
2:1 (My little children,
I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin.
) But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate
with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One,
1 John 2:21
2:21 I have not written to you that
you do not know the truth, but that
you do know it, and that
no lie is of the truth.
1 John 2:23
2:23 Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either. The person who confesses the Son has the Father also.
1 John 3:15-16
3:15 Everyone who hates his fellow Christian
is a murderer,
and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing
in him.
3:16 We have come to know love by this:
that Jesus
laid down
his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians.
1 John 3:20
3:20 that
if our conscience condemns
us, that
God is greater than our conscience and knows all things.
1 John 4:4

1 John 4:12-13
4:12 No one has seen God at any time.
If we love one another, God resides
in us, and his love is perfected in us.
4:13 By this
we know that we reside in God
and he in us: in that he has given us of his Spirit.
1 John 4:15
4:15 If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides in him and he in God.
1 John 5:2-3
5:2 By this
we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.
5:3 For
this is the love of God:
that we keep his commandments.
And his commandments do not weigh us down,
1 John 5:14-15
5:14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
5:15 And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.
