1 John 2:4-5
2:4 The one who says “I have come to know God”
and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.
2:5 But whoever obeys his
word, truly in this person
the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him.
1 John 2:15
2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
1 John 2:17
2:17 And the world is passing away with all its desires, but the person who does the will of God remains
forever.
1 John 3:20
3:20 that
if our conscience condemns
us, that
God is greater than our conscience and knows all things.
1 John 4:4
4:4 You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:12
4:12 No one has seen God at any time.
If we love one another, God resides
in us, and his love is perfected in us.
1 John 5:3
5:3 For
this is the love of God:
that we keep his commandments.
And his commandments do not weigh us down,
1 John 5:14
5:14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
