by obeying
my rules and regulations, just as your father David did,
then I will grant you long life.”
1 Kings 11:4

1 Kings 11:33
11:33 I am taking the kingdom from him
because they have
abandoned me and worshiped the Sidonian goddess Astarte, the Moabite god Chemosh, and the Ammonite god Milcom. They have not followed my instructions
by doing what I approve and obeying my rules and regulations, like Solomon’s father David did.
1 Kings 11:2
11:2 They came from nations about which the
Lord had warned the Israelites, “You must not establish friendly relations with them!
If you do, they will surely shift your allegiance to their gods.”
But Solomon was irresistibly attracted to them.
1 Kings 20:3
20:3 He said to him, “This is what Ben Hadad says, ‘Your silver and your gold are mine, as well as the best of your wives and sons.’”
1 Kings 20:2
20:2 He sent messengers to King Ahab of Israel, who was in the city.
1 Kings 1:2
1:2 His servants advised
him, “A young virgin must be found for our master, the king,
to take care of the king’s needs
and serve as his nurse. She can also sleep with you
and keep our master, the king, warm.”
1 Kings 1:20-21
1:20 Now,
my master, O king, all Israel is watching anxiously to see who is named to succeed my master the king on the throne.
1:21 If a decision is not made,
when my master the king is buried with his ancestors,
my son Solomon and I
will be considered state criminals.”
Psalms 119:80
119:80 May I be fully committed to your statutes,
so that I might not be ashamed.
