1 Kings 3:5
3:5 One night in Gibeon the
Lord appeared
to Solomon in a dream. God said, “Tell
me what I should give you.”
1 Kings 11:9
11:9 The Lord was angry with Solomon because he had shifted his allegiance away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him on two occasions
1 Kings 11:2
11:2 They came from nations about which the
Lord had warned the Israelites, “You must not establish friendly relations with them!
If you do, they will surely shift your allegiance to their gods.”
But Solomon was irresistibly attracted to them.
1 Kings 1:7-12
1:7 He collaborated
with Joab son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they supported
him.
1:8 But Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and David’s elite warriors
did not ally themselves
with Adonijah.
1:9 Adonijah sacrificed sheep, cattle, and fattened steers at the Stone of Zoheleth near En Rogel. He invited all his brothers, the king’s sons,
as well as all the men of Judah, the king’s servants.
1:10 But he did not invite Nathan the prophet, Benaiah, the elite warriors,
or his brother Solomon.
1:11 Nathan said to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother, “Has it been reported to you that Haggith’s son Adonijah has become king behind our master David’s back?
1:12 Now let me give you some advice as to how you can save your life and your son Solomon’s life.
1 Kings 7:12
7:12 Around the great courtyard were three rows of chiseled stones and one row of cedar beams, like the inner courtyard of the
Lord’s temple and the hall of the palace.
