1 Samuel 26:8-9
26:8 Abishai said to David, “Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me drive the spear
right through him into the ground with one swift jab!
A second jab won’t be necessary!”
26:9 But David said to Abishai, “Don’t kill him! Who can extend his hand against the Lord’s chosen one and remain guiltless?”

Isaiah 58:6-7
58:6 No, this is the kind of fast I want.
I want you to remove the sinful chains,
to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke,
to set free the oppressed,
and to break every burdensome yoke.
58:7 I want you to share your food with the hungry
and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people.
When you see someone naked, clothe him!
Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood!

10:31 Now by chance
a priest was going down that road, but
when he saw the injured man
he passed by
on the other side.

the place and saw him,
passed by on the other side.
Luke 23:23-25
23:23 But they were insistent,
demanding with loud shouts that he be crucified. And their shouts prevailed.

Pilate
decided
that their demand should be granted.
23:25 He released the man they asked for, who had been thrown in prison for insurrection and murder. But he handed Jesus over

21:31 While they were trying
to kill him, a report
was sent up
to the commanding officer
of the cohort
that all Jerusalem was in confusion.

Acts 23:10

along with seventy horsemen
and two hundred spearmen
by
nine o’clock tonight,
23:24 and provide mounts for Paul to ride
so that he may be brought safely to Felix
the governor.”
23:25 He wrote
a letter that went like this:
23:26 Claudius Lysias to His Excellency Governor Felix, greetings.
23:27 This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him, when I came up with the detachment and rescued him, because I had learned that he was a Roman citizen.
23:28 Since I wanted to know what charge they were accusing him of, I brought him down to their council.
23:29 I found he was accused with reference to controversial questions about their law, but no charge against him deserved death or imprisonment.
23:30 When I was informed there would be a plot against this man, I sent him to you at once, also ordering his accusers to state their charges against him before you.
23:31 So the soldiers, in accordance with their orders, took Paul and brought him to Antipatris during the night.
23:32 The next day they let the horsemen go on with him, and they returned to the barracks.
23:33 When the horsemen came to Caesarea and delivered the letter to the governor, they also presented Paul to him.
23:34 When the governor had read the letter, he asked what province he was from. When he learned that he was from Cilicia,
23:35 he said, “I will give you a hearing when your accusers arrive too.” Then he ordered that Paul be kept under guard in Herod’s palace.

Acts 3:16-17
3:16 And on the basis of faith in Jesus’
name,
his very name has made this man – whom you see and know – strong. The
faith that is through Jesus
has given him this complete health in the presence
of you all.
3:17 And now, brothers, I know you acted in ignorance,
as your rulers did too.
