2 Chronicles 32:3-4

32:3 he consulted with his advisers and military officers about stopping up the springs outside the city, and they supported him. 32:4 A large number of people gathered together and stopped up all the springs and the stream that flowed through the district. They reasoned, “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find plenty of water?”

2 Chronicles 32:11

32:11 Hezekiah says, “The Lord our God will rescue us from the power of the king of Assyria.” But he is misleading you and you will die of hunger and thirst!

Isaiah 22:9-11

22:9 You saw the many breaks

in the walls of the city of David;

you stored up water in the lower pool.

22:10 You counted the houses in Jerusalem,

and demolished houses so you could have material to reinforce the wall.

22:11 You made a reservoir between the two walls

for the water of the old pool –

but you did not trust in the one who made it;

you did not depend on the one who formed it long ago!

Isaiah 37:25

37:25 I dug wells

and drank water.

With the soles of my feet I dried up

all the rivers of Egypt.’
