2 Kings 15:29
15:29 During Pekah’s reign over Israel, King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor,
Gilead, and Galilee, including all the territory of Naphtali. He deported the people
to Assyria.
2 Kings 17:3-6
17:3 King Shalmaneser of Assyria threatened
him; Hoshea became his subject and paid him tribute.
17:4 The king of Assyria discovered that Hoshea was planning a revolt.
Hoshea had sent messengers to King So
of Egypt and had not sent his annual tribute to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria arrested him and imprisoned him.
17:5 The king of Assyria marched through
the whole land. He attacked Samaria and besieged it for three years.
17:6 In the ninth year of Hoshea’s reign, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the people of Israel
to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, along the Habor (the river of Gozan), and in the cities of the Medes.
2 Kings 17:23
17:23 Finally
the
Lord rejected Israel
just as he had warned he would do
through all his servants the prophets. Israel was deported from its land to Assyria and remains there to this very day.
2 Kings 18:9-12
18:9 In the fourth year of King Hezekiah’s reign (it was the seventh year of the reign of Israel’s King Hoshea, son of Elah), King Shalmaneser of Assyria marched up against Samaria and besieged it.
18:10 After three years he captured it (in the sixth year of Hezekiah’s reign); in the ninth year of King Hoshea’s reign over Israel Samaria was captured.
18:11 The king of Assyria deported the people of Israel to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, along the Habor (the river of Gozan), and in the cities of the Medes.
18:12 This happened because they did not obey the Lord their God and broke his agreement with them. They did not pay attention to and obey all that Moses, the Lord’s servant, had commanded.

Hezekiah Becomes King of Judah
18:1 In the third year of the reign of Israel’s King Hoshea son of Elah, Ahaz’s son Hezekiah became king over Judah.
2 Kings 5:26
5:26 Elisha
replied, “I was there in spirit when a man turned and got down from his chariot to meet you.
This is not the proper time to accept silver or to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, cattle, and male and female servants.

have a single intent, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.

17:16 The
ten horns that you saw, and the beast – these will hate the prostitute and make her desolate and naked. They
will consume her flesh and burn her up with fire.
