Abner Defects to David’s Camp
3:6 As the war continued between the house of Saul and the house of David, Abner was becoming more influential in the house of Saul.
2 Samuel 3:25
3:25 You know Abner the son of Ner! Surely he came here to spy on you and to determine when you leave and when you return
and to discover everything that you are doing!”
2 Samuel 5:23
5:23 So David asked the
Lord what he should do.

Lord said to him, “Don’t march straight up. Instead, circle around behind them and come against them opposite the trees.
