Acts 13:36-37
13:36 For David, after he had served
God’s purpose in his own generation, died,
was buried with his ancestors,
and experienced
decay,
13:37 but the one
whom God raised up did not experience
decay.
Acts 13:1
The Church at Antioch Commissions Barnabas and Saul
13:1 Now there were these prophets and teachers in the church at Antioch: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen (a close friend of Herod the tetrarch from childhood) and Saul.
Colossians 3:5
3:5 So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth:
sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion,
evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.
Colossians 3:2
3:2 Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth,
Colossians 3:7-11
3:7 You also lived your lives
in this way at one time, when you used to live among them.
3:8 But now, put off all such things
as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth.
3:9 Do not lie to one another since you have put off the old man with its practices
3:10 and have been clothed with the new man
that is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one who created it.
3:11 Here there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave
or free, but Christ is all and in all.
Colossians 1:18
1:18 He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.
Hebrews 3:2-6
3:2 who is faithful to the one who appointed him, as Moses was also in God’s
house.
3:3 For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself!
3:4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
3:5 Now Moses was
faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken.
3:6 But Christ
is faithful as a son over God’s
house. We are of his house,
if in fact we hold firmly
to our confidence and the hope we take pride in.
