Acts 21:20-23
21:20 When they heard this, they praised
God. Then they said to him, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews
there are who have believed, and they are all ardent observers
of the law.
21:21 They have been informed about you – that you teach all the Jews now living
among the Gentiles to abandon
Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children
or live
according to our customs.
21:22 What then should we do? They will no doubt
hear that you have come.
21:23 So do what
we tell you: We have four men
who have taken
a vow;
Galatians 2:12-14
2:12 Until
certain people came from James, he had been eating with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he stopped doing this
and separated himself
because he was afraid of those who were pro-circumcision.
2:13 And the rest of the Jews also joined with him in this hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray with them
by their hypocrisy.
2:14 But when I saw that they were not behaving consistently with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas
in front of them all, “If you, although you are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you try to force
the Gentiles to live like Jews?”
