Acts 21:39--22:2
21:39 Paul answered,
“I am a Jew
from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of an important city.
Please
allow me to speak to the people.”
21:40 When the commanding officer
had given him permission,
Paul stood
on the steps and gestured
to the people with his hand. When they had become silent,
he addressed
them in Aramaic,
Paul’s Defense
22:1 “Brothers and fathers, listen to my defense that I now make to you.”
22:2 (When they heard that he was addressing them in Aramaic, they became even quieter.) Then Paul said,

Paul Offers His Defense
26:1 So Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” Then Paul held out his hand and began his defense:
26:2 “Regarding all the things I have been accused of by the Jews, King Agrippa, I consider myself fortunate that I am about to make my defense before you today,
Luke 21:12-15
21:12 But before all this,
they will seize
you and persecute you, handing you over to the synagogues
and prisons. You
will be brought before kings and governors because of my name.
21:13 This will be a time for you to serve as witnesses.
21:14 Therefore be resolved
not to rehearse
ahead of time how to make your defense.
21:15 For I will give you the words
along with the wisdom
that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.
