Acts 22:24
22:24 the commanding officer ordered Paul to be brought back into the barracks. He told them to interrogate Paul by beating him with a lash so that he could find out the reason the crowd was shouting at Paul in this way.
Acts 25:16
25:16 I answered them that it was not the custom of the Romans to hand over anyone before the accused had met his accusers face to face and had been given an opportunity to make a defense against the accusation.
John 18:29-30
18:29 So Pilate came outside to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”
18:30 They replied, “If this man were not a criminal, we would not have handed him over to you.”
