Deuteronomy 22:9-11
Illustrations of the Principle of Purity
22:9 You must not plant your vineyard with two kinds of seed; otherwise the entire yield, both of the seed you plant and the produce of the vineyard, will be defiled.
22:10 You must not plow with an ox and a donkey harnessed together.
22:11 You must not wear clothing made with wool and linen meshed together.
Matthew 9:16-17
9:16 No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, because the patch will pull away from the garment and the tear will be worse.
9:17 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins;
otherwise the skins burst and the wine is spilled out and the skins are destroyed. Instead they put new wine into new wineskins
and both are preserved.”
Romans 11:6
11:6 And if it is by grace, it is no longer by works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.
Romans 11:2
11:2 God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew! Do you not know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?
Colossians 1:14-17
1:14 in whom we have redemption,
the forgiveness of sins.
The Supremacy of Christ
1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,
1:16 for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.
1:17 He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.
Galatians 3:9-11
3:9 So then those who believe
are blessed along with Abraham the believer.
3:10 For all who
rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, “
Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law.”
3:11 Now it is clear no one is justified before God by the law, because
the righteous one will live by faith.
