Deuteronomy 5:14
5:14 but the seventh day is the Sabbath
of the
Lord your God. On that day you must not do any work, you, your son, your daughter, your male slave, your female slave, your ox, your donkey, any other animal, or the foreigner who lives with you,
so that your male and female slaves, like yourself, may have rest.
Deuteronomy 12:15
Regulations for Profane Slaughter
12:15 On the other hand, you may slaughter and eat meat as you please when the Lord your God blesses you in all your villages. Both the ritually pure and impure may eat it, whether it is a gazelle or an ibex.
Deuteronomy 12:18
12:18 Only in the presence of the
Lord your God may you eat these, in the place he
chooses. This applies to you, your son, your daughter, your male and female servants, and the Levites
in your villages. In that place you will rejoice before the
Lord your God in all the output of your labor.

chooses to locate his name is too far for you, you may slaughter any of your herd and flock he
has given you just as I have stipulated; you may eat them in your villages
just as you wish.

and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. You are a people holy to the

Lord your God may bless you in all the work you do.

15:7 If a fellow Israelite from one of your villages in the land that the Lord your God is giving you should be poor, you must not harden your heart or be insensitive to his impoverished condition.

the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows among you – in the place where the
Lord chooses to locate his name.

that the
Lord your God is giving you – who sins before the Lord your God
and breaks his covenant

17:5 you must bring to your city gates
that man or woman who has done this wicked thing – that very man or woman – and you must stone that person to death.

Appeal to a Higher Court
17:8 If a matter is too difficult for you to judge – bloodshed, legal claim, or assault – matters of controversy in your villages – you must leave there and go up to the place the Lord your God chooses.

18:6 Suppose a Levite comes by his own free will
from one of your villages, from any part of Israel where he is living,
to the place the
Lord chooses

25:7 But if the man does not want to marry his brother’s widow, then she
must go to the elders at the town gate and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel; he is unwilling to perform the duty of a brother-in-law to me!”

26:12 When you finish tithing all your income in the third year (the year of tithing), you must give it to the Levites, the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows so that they may eat to their satisfaction in your villages.
