Deuteronomy 7:8
7:8 Rather it is because of his
love
for you and his faithfulness to the promise
he solemnly vowed
to your ancestors
that the
Lord brought you out with great power,
redeeming
you from the place of slavery, from the power
of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 13:17
13:17 You must not take for yourself anything that has been placed under judgment.
Then the
Lord will relent from his intense anger, show you compassion, have mercy on you, and multiply you as he promised your ancestors.
Deuteronomy 29:12
29:12 so that you may enter by oath into the covenant the
Lord your God is making with you today.
Exodus 19:5-6
19:5 And now, if you will diligently listen to me
and keep
my covenant, then you will be my
special possession
out of all the nations, for all the earth is mine,
19:6 and you will be to me
a kingdom of priests
and a holy nation.’
These are the words that you will speak to the Israelites.”
Jeremiah 11:5
11:5 Then I will keep the promise I swore on oath to your ancestors to give them a land flowing with milk and honey.”
That is the very land that you still live in today.’”
And I responded, “Amen! Let it be so,
Lord!”
Hebrews 6:13-18
6:13 Now when God made his promise to Abraham, since he could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself,
6:14 saying, “Surely I will bless you greatly and multiply your descendants abundantly.”
6:15 And so by persevering, Abraham inherited the promise.
6:16 For people swear by something greater than themselves, and the oath serves as a confirmation to end all dispute.
6:17 In the same way God wanted to demonstrate more clearly to the heirs of the promise that his purpose was unchangeable, and so he intervened with an oath,
6:18 so that we who have found refuge in him may find strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us through two unchangeable things, since it is impossible for God to lie.
