Therefore, let your words be few.

5:6 Do not let your mouth cause you to sin,
and do not tell the priest, “It was a mistake!”
Why make God angry at you
so that he would destroy the work of your hands?”
Matthew 5:22
5:22 But I say to you that anyone who is angry with a brother
will be subjected to judgment. And whoever insults
a brother will be brought before
the council,
and whoever says ‘Fool’
will be sent
to fiery hell.
Matthew 12:36
12:36 I
tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.
James 3:6
3:6 And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents
the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It

3:9 With it we bless the Lord
and Father, and with it we curse people
made in God’s image.
3:10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. These things should not be so, my brothers and sisters.
