Ecclesiastes 5:2
5:2 Do not be rash with your mouth or hasty in your heart to bring up a matter before God,
for God is in heaven and you are on earth!
Therefore, let your words be few.
Hosea 14:2
14:2 Return to the Lord and repent!
Say to him: “Completely forgive our iniquity;
accept our penitential prayer,
that we may offer the praise of our lips as sacrificial bulls.

you pray, do not babble repetitiously like the Gentiles, because they think that by their many words they will be heard.
