7:2 It is better to go to a funeral
than a feast.
For death
and the living should
7:3 Sorrow
because sober reflection
7:4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
but the heart of fools is in the house of merrymaking.
7:5 It is better for a person to receive
than to listen to the song
7:6 For like the crackling of quick-burning thorns
so is the laughter of the fool.
This kind of folly
14:13 Even in laughter the heart may ache,

4:2 The sovereign Lord confirms this oath by his own holy character:
“Certainly the time is approaching
when you will be carried away
every last one of you
