Leviticus 26:1
Exhortation to Obedience
26:1 “‘You must not make for yourselves idols, so you must not set up for yourselves a carved image or a pillar, and you must not place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down before it, for I am the Lord your God.
Deuteronomy 17:2-7
17:2 Suppose a man or woman is discovered among you – in one of your villages
that the
Lord your God is giving you – who sins before the Lord your God
and breaks his covenant
17:3 by serving other gods and worshiping them – the sun,
moon, or any other heavenly bodies which I have not permitted you to worship.
17:4 When it is reported to you and you hear about it, you must investigate carefully. If it is indeed true that such a disgraceful thing
is being done in Israel,
17:5 you must bring to your city gates
that man or woman who has done this wicked thing – that very man or woman – and you must stone that person to death.
17:6 At the testimony of two or three witnesses they must be executed. They cannot be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.
17:7 The witnesses
must be first to begin the execution, and then all the people
are to join in afterward. In this way you will purge evil from among you.
Deuteronomy 27:15
27:15 ‘Cursed is the one
who makes a carved or metal image – something abhorrent
to the
Lord, the work of the craftsman
– and sets it up in a secret place.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’
Deuteronomy 31:16
31:16 Then the
Lord said to Moses, “You are about to die,
and then these people will begin to prostitute themselves with the foreign gods of the land into which they
are going. They
will reject
me and break my covenant that I have made with them.
Deuteronomy 31:29
31:29 For I know that after I die you will totally
corrupt yourselves and turn away from the path I have commanded you to walk. Disaster will confront you in the days to come because you will act wickedly
before the
Lord, inciting him to anger because of your actions.”

19:48 This was the land assigned to the tribe of Dan by its clans, including these cities and their towns.

he gave the symbol of his splendor into the hand of the enemy.
