Exodus 34:6-7
34:6 The
Lord passed by before him and proclaimed:
“The
Lord, the
Lord,
the compassionate and gracious
God, slow to anger,
and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness,
34:7 keeping loyal love for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. But he by no means leaves the guilty unpunished, responding to the transgression
of fathers by dealing with children and children’s children, to the third and fourth generation.”
Isaiah 55:6-7
55:6 Seek the Lord while he makes himself available;
call to him while he is nearby!
55:7 The wicked need to abandon their lifestyle
and sinful people their plans.
They should return to the Lord, and he will show mercy to them,
and to their God, for he will freely forgive them.
Jeremiah 3:12-13
The Lord Calls on Israel and Judah to Repent
3:12 “Go and shout this message to my people in the countries in the north. Tell them,
‘Come back to me, wayward Israel,’ says the Lord.
‘I will not continue to look on you with displeasure.
For I am merciful,’ says the Lord.
‘I will not be angry with you forever.
3:13 However, you must confess that you have done wrong,
and that you have rebelled against the Lord your God.
You must confess that you have given yourself to foreign gods under every green tree,
and have not obeyed my commands,’ says the Lord.
Jeremiah 3:1
3:1 “If a man divorces his wife
and she leaves him and becomes another man’s wife,
he may not take her back again.
Doing that would utterly defile the land.
But you, Israel, have given yourself as a prostitute to many gods.
So what makes you think you can return to me?”
says the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:7-9
1:7 The
Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ But go
to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you.
1:8 Do not be afraid of those to whom I send you,
for I will be with you to protect
you,” says the
Lord.
1:9 Then the
Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I will most assuredly give you the words you are to speak for me.
