Exodus 20:3-5
20:3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
20:4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water below.
20:5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the Lord, your God, am a jealous God, responding to the transgression of fathers by dealing with children to the third and fourth generations of those who reject me,
Deuteronomy 4:15-18
The Nature of Israel’s God
4:15 Be very careful, then, because you saw no form at the time the Lord spoke to you at Horeb from the middle of the fire.
4:16 I say this so you will not corrupt yourselves by making an image in the form of any kind of figure. This includes the likeness of a human male or female,
4:17 any kind of land animal, any bird that flies in the sky,
4:18 anything that crawls on the ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth.
Acts 7:40
7:40 saying to Aaron, ‘
Make us gods who will go in front of us, for this Moses, who led us out of the land of Egypt – we do not know what has happened to him!’
Acts 17:29
17:29 So since we are God’s offspring, we should not think the deity
