Ezra 1:1
The Decree of Cyrus
1:1 In the first year of King Cyrus of Persia, in order to fulfill the Lord’s message spoken through Jeremiah, the Lord stirred the mind of King Cyrus of Persia. He disseminated a proclamation throughout his entire kingdom, announcing in a written edict the following:
Ezra 7:27
7:27 Blessed be the Lord God of our fathers, who so moved in the heart of the king to so honor the temple of the Lord which is in Jerusalem!
Nehemiah 1:11
1:11 Please,
O Lord, listen attentively
to the prayer of your servant and to the prayer of your servants who take pleasure in showing respect
to your name. Grant your servant success today and show compassion to me
in the presence of this man.”
Now I was cupbearer for the king.
Proverbs 16:7
16:7 When a person’s ways are pleasing to the Lord,
he even reconciles his enemies to himself.
Proverbs 21:1
21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord like channels of water;
he turns it wherever he wants.
