Genesis 4:4-5
4:4 But Abel brought
some of the firstborn of his flock – even the fattest
of them. And the
Lord was pleased with
Abel and his offering,
4:5 but with Cain and his offering he was not pleased.
So Cain became very angry,
and his expression was downcast.
Exodus 24:8-11
24:8 So Moses took the blood and splashed it on
the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant
that the
Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
24:9 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up,
24:10 and they saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear like the sky itself.
24:11 But he did not lay a hand on the leaders of the Israelites, so they saw God, and they ate and they drank.

11:41 But give from your heart to those in need,
